Frequently Asked Questions

Why do some graphics have blue lines around them?

These graphics have a link to another graphic or they have "clickable zones." Move your cursor over the graphic. If it changes from a pointer to a hand, there are places on the graphic that if clicked will take you to another page or graphic. To get back to where you were, press the "BACK" button on your viewer window.

I've clicked to another place and now I need to get back to where I was. What do I do?

Press the "BACK" button on your viewer window.

I was reading through the "Test Your Knowledge" questions. Where are the answers?

There are two ways to see the answers for these questions. If you click on the letter choice for your answer, the active window will bring you to another page with the answer on it. OR you can just put the cursor over the answer and a pop-up window should appear with the answers in it. As you move from one answer to another, the information in the pop-up window will change.

The first time I looked at the "Test Your Knowledge" questions, I got a pop-up window. Now I don't see it. What do I do?

That small pop-up window is probably hidden behind your active window. Look at the bottom of your monitor's viewing area. There may be an icon at the bottom of the screen that you can press, or you can minimize your present window to find the small pop-up.

When I look at the "Test Your Knowledge" questions, sometimes the answer does not reflect the one my cursor is over. Am I doing something wrong?

No, sometimes, the system does not move as fast as you do. Roll away from the answer and back onto your choice.

Some lines look evenly spaced on my monitor and others do not. Why is that?

There are many places in this courseware that subscripts or superscripts are used. That makes modifications to the line spacing. There is nothing wrong with your monitor or the courseware.

Can I download the entire lecture series?

No, not without a lot of trouble. This courseware was not created to be a paper textbook; it was created to be used online. That is why many of the lectures are broken down into parts. We wanted you to be able to pull them up quickly, in digestible pieces for reading and understandings. But, many of the features that make online courseware attractive, (internal links, animated graphics, graphics with clickable zones, etc) do not function on paper.
